CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES:
Education and Enrichment Programs –
During the school year and summertime, kids need extra support to do well in school. Teen and adult volunteers are needed afterschool from 3:45- 5:30 Monday through Thursday and Saturday mornings 8:30 until 12:00. Simple training is provided on an on-going basis. Regular participation is important for the students to get to know the tutors. All volunteers are strongly encouraged to register for 6-8 sessions per season (fall, winter, summer) with exceptions accommodated as necessary.
SUMMER LUNCH AND DAY CAMP PROGRAM VOLUNTEERS:
Summer is a special time for all kids, especially for those in the Beacon Place community and volunteers are what make it so special! Whether they are providing nutritious snacks and lunches, making crafts, playing games, sports, or just having some good old fashioned summer fun, Beacon Place volunteers are making a difference every day. This summer our programs are bigger than ever and we need help from teens and adults alike!
There are lots of ways to join the fun, so pick the day, time and activity that works right for you! Adult and teen volunteers are needed Monday and Thursday 10:30-2:00 June through August; activities include helping with lunch, playing with kids, games, arts, crafts, sports, etc. Training is provided at the beginning of the summer and on an on-going basis.
Special Event Programming –
Are you unable to commit to a weekly or regular volunteer schedule but still want to have a chance to help the Beacon Place kids and families? Consider volunteering to help at one of our special events such as the spring/fall clean up days, Summer Walk-a-Thon, Holiday Party for Kids, or Christmas Boutique for Parents.
