Programs for Parents

Strong communities start with strong families. We work to support our moms, dads and caregivers with programs including ESL, health and nutrition, exercise and yoga,  parenting support, civic responsibility and community engagement. The mantra, “I Can,” permeates all of our Parents’  Programs   Activities and experiences provide opportunities to gain new knowledge,  build confidence and self esteem,  as well as strengthen community and group cohesion. Focus is placed on relevant topics that often come from the participants themselves and the needs of their families.  Guest speakers have included experts from Prairie Crossing Farm, Cooking Matters, the Waukegan Police Department, Lake County Health Department, A Safe Place, the University of Illinois, Rosalind Franklin University, Wintrust, Arden Shore, and the Waukegan Public School System.
