Doors Open at the Newly Renovated Beacon Place Community Center!

drawingThe transformation of “Big Blue” is complete and we have welcomed the children of the Afterschool Homework Club and MOMS group back home. “I Can’t Wait” is the theme of the drawing (pictured right) made by one of our children and it truly describes the feelings of the board, the volunteers, the families and the children of Beacon Place. They have told us, “I can’t wait to participate in the programs and belong,” “I can’t wait to work, learn, and feel safe and supported.”
So many people have worked tirelessly to create Beacon Place and I am truly grateful to all those who lent a hand, whether it was financial, physical or emotional. I must also thank our general contractor, Mike Krinninger, for his dedication to making Beacon Place more than a building, but a welcoming home.
I can’t wait for our Open House to show everyone the new Beacon Place Community Center. Please join us on May 17th from 1-4 p.m. to meet our volunteers and families. Please come and experience firsthand how Beacon Place is bringing people together for good.
