It’s All In the Numbers: 2018 Update

At Beacon Place, 2017 was an amazing year in so many ways!

As we launch into 2018, we look back on all that you have helped make possible over the last twelve months. All of this was possible because there are individuals like you who believe that working together, we can make a difference for individuals, for families, and for a community. It also makes us realize that if we can do this much after only starting a few short years ago, then just think what is possible as we move toward the future! Pause and appreciate all that you have made happen, and then join us as we embark on a future for of possibilities for many more brighter tomorrows!

In 2017 ….

  • More than 567 participants, both children and adults, were enrolled in our year round programs
  • Over 15,300 hours of programs were available to kids and parents who wanted to be  healthier, learn new skills, do better in school, and work hard to create stronger communities
  • More than 13,600 meals and snacks were provided including 2,700 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables because it is hard to learn and change if you are hungry
  • Nearly 350 volunteers from neighboring communities dedicated almost 10,000 hours of support to new friends
  • Construction began to convert an old garage into a 2400 sq foot multi use Learning and Enrichment Annex

All of these amazing accomplishments were made possible because you shared not only your time,  your talents, but also your financial generosity which allows Beacon Place to continue to operate with no debt and strong, fiscally sound management. The future certainly does look brighter around the big blue house on the corner in Waukegan!

We appreciate the recent donations from Baron & Herskowitz and continued contributions from our sponsors.
